Courage is a memoir by Patricia Alcivar that will without a doubt impact anyone that reads it. Living in New York City on her own since the age of 15, Patricia’s story of overcoming abuse at the hands of her parents and relying on her faith and strength to help her keep moving forward will inspire you to never give up. She used her painful past as fuel in her athletic endeavors to become the 1st woman ever to be voted and win “Athlete of the Year” in boxing as well as complete numerous marathons, but more importantly, her spirit and humility to forgive those who hurt her the most will change the way you think forever.

Patricia is a lifelong New Yorker and works as a Professional Spanish Translator/ Interpreter for the City of New York. One of Patty’s passions is Alpine/High Altitude Mountain Climbing and one of her goals is to be the first Woman/ Latina from Queens, New York to climb the 7 Summits of the World. She has successfully summited 4 of the 7 thus far. She is also an animal activist and active in Fighting Hunger & Poverty.
