The Flushing River holds many secrets and features an amazing history. The river has been witness to centuries of Flushing and Queens history unfold before it. It has been home to the Lenni Lenape, the Dutch, the French and British and is today enjoyed by people from around the world who call Queens home.

Presented by historian and QHS Executive Director Jason D. Antos, the slide show/lecture will feature archival photographs and illustrations of life along the Flushing River spanning more than 350 years. Discover tales of pirates, the Underground Rail Road, rowdy waterfront saloons, trolleys, the Long Island Rail Road as well as the estates of the rich and famous!

Join us at Queens Historical Society on Sunday, February 2nd at 3:00 pm.

The lecture will conclude with a tour of the Flushing River Gallery Exhibit and Kingsland Homestead.
