Library & Collections

The Queens Historical Society’s collections encompass all 300 years of the history of Queens in various materials and formats, including: photographs of towns throughout Queens and parts of long Island, textiles, artworks, and archival materials. The Society also owns the family papers and many artifacts from the Kings, Murrays, and Mitchells, the families that resided here at Kingsland. By appointment, researchers may pursue the Society’s valuable library of primary and secondary source materials. These materials, which deal with local and American history, include maps, atlasses, manuscripts, photographs, family papers, rare books, genealogies, and ephemera, covering every chapter of the incredible history of Queens.
